Dear Friends,
When I get caught up in too much "doing" I remind myself of these words I once read:
"YOU ARE NOT HERE TO MAKE A LIVING -- YOU ARE HERE TO LIVE."
Whenever I think of these words I make a decision to set aside more time to just BE!
Take a moment right now to sit back, close your eyes, and draw in deeply that breath
of life that reminds you that you and God are one -- and that life is good! We hear a
lot about distress in our fast-paced society. Maybe we need to give a little attention
to mini-vacations, just a few moments now and then to de-stress, take some downtime.
Summer time is here and although it affords us a large time-out from regular schedules
we end up, frequently, counting the days until next year's vacation. This would be a
good year to change that -- to make a havit of taking mini-vacations. I'm reminded of
some lines of William Wordsworth: "The world is too much with us; late and soon,
getting and spending, we lay waste our powers."
So, give yourself the gift of a happy resting time more regularly. It is, after all, rest
that regenerates our spirit and makes it possible for us to work more effectively in
co-creatorship with God.
Here's to the regeneration of our spirits!
